As the official debut of "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" nears, a promo poster drawn by series creator Masashi Kishimoto himself has been shared. The characters, depicted in their new-generation form and appearance in the artwork, are all wearing their game faces.

The visual, which also raises the question as to who the unfamiliar figure looming over Naruto and the gang is, is in preparation for the big release of the highly-anticipated action-packed anime movie on Aug. 7.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" follows the journey of the titular character, Naruto's equally self-assured scion, as he attempts to make a name for himself and establish a legacy far bigger and more glorious than his father's. There he will meet friends and foes.

According to the synopsis of the movie, Boruto will seek the help of Sasuke, Naruto's dear old pal, in order to achieve his ultimate goal. Boruto will meet Sasuke's daughter Sarada, too. From there will spring tension, action, drama, and friendship.

Boruto was first seen in the final chapter of the dearly-loved "Naruto" manga published back in November and appeared in spin-off manga series namely "Naruto: The Seventh Hokage" and "Scarlet Spring." He made his big screen debut in "The Last: Naruto the Movie."

Just recently, it was announced that a special comedy manga companion will be released on Aug. 1, just before the film is released to prepare fans before they head to cinemas.

The film stars Yuko Senpai as Boruto, Kokoro Kikuchi as Sarada. Junko Takeuchi returns as Naruto Uzumaki and Noriaki Sugiyama as Sasuke Uchiha. The original story and character design were taken care of by Kishimoto, who enlisted Ukyo Kodachi from "Chaos Dragon" for the scriptwriting.

Hiroyuki Yamashita, who helmed episodes for "Naruto Shippuden" and "Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie," directs "Boruto: Naruto the Movie."
