Trade rumors involving Boston Celtics star Rajon Rondo have been circulating for a while, and it seems like they won't die down anytime soon.

Allegedly, the 28-year-old star point guard wants to get out of Boston based on the report of ESPN's Jackie MacMullan.

The report said, "When Frank Isola raised the topic of trading Rondo, MacMullan replied, 'Oh, I hope so. Just get it done. And it will happen because he's told them he wants out. And no one believes me, but that's the truth.'"

MacMullan reportedly noted that former Celtics coach and current Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers did not like Rondo, and his new team does not need him because they have Chris Paul.

MacMullan also cannot see how the Celtics can gain anything from the said trade. "I don't see how you get 80 cents on the dollar for him. Tell me where," he said.

However, Rondo and his agent Bill Duffy reportedly denied the news through an interview with Boston Herald's Mark Murphy. "Neither Bill nor Rajon know where this has come from, but it didn't come from them," Alyson Furch said in a text. "They want this on the record. Neither has spoken to anyone about this."

The denials from Rondo's camp were validated by his comments during interviews all throughout summer. In the interviews, Rondo professed his desire to stay with the Celtics for the upcoming season.

The veteran point guard had been the subject of trade rumors constantly during his entire career. When Wyc Grousbeck, the co-owners of the Celtics, said that the fans of the team should look forward to "fireworks" in the upcoming NBA season, a lot of people were thinking that he was referring to Rondo.

This will be the final year of Rondo's contract with the Celtics this season, and he is said to look for the best numbers for his next deal.
