NBA 2015 rumors, news: Rajon Rondo leaving Dallas Mavericks

Rajon Rondo and Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle are apparently not on the same page and with the current NBA season winding down fast, the Mavs may as well see Rondo moving to another team once their campaign is over.

Apparently the Rondo departure is nothing new. Everyone knows that celebrated verbal altercation in the regular season which saw Rondo being suspended. All that somehow died down but was immediately ignited once more when Rondo got benched in favor of a seldom-used Raymond Felton in the Mavs playoff match against the Rockets during game 2 of their first round NBA playoff matchup.

It will be recalled that Rondo has been a prime target for the Lakers, made all the more louder when he and Kobe Bryant met last December.

Rondo was acquired by the Mavericks together with Dwight Powell through a trade that saw Brandan Wright, Jameer Nelson and Jae Crowder plus a 2015 first-round pick and a 2016 second round pick head to Boston.

Seeing the caliber of Rondo during his Boston days, his coming was supposed to help the Dallas cause. But from the looks of it, his arrival was more of a misfit, failing to blend in with coach Carlisle's system.

Apparently, Carlisle has already confirmed this in a way (via Fox Sports) after he mentioned in an interview that he doesn't expect Rondo to return next season in a Maverick uniform.

Then again, it could be different if Dallas owner Mark Cuban decides to part with Carlisle. Things could be different in that scenario although Rondo's transfer to the Lakers (or any other team for that matter) seems practically imminent.

From the looks of it, the Mavericks may as well be doomed as injuries have hit the team as well. Aside from the Rondo issue, Chandler Parsons has been taken out of the equation as well (right knee injury).
