Tech giant Motorola is expected to release a new smartphone, the Moto G third generation, as the successor to the Moto G second generation handset released last September.

In terms of specs and features, nothing new has emerged alongside the new images except for the design.

An unknown source leaked the images, which were retrieved and later published by tech website Techno Buffalo.

It still remains unclear when the new Moto G smartphone will come out, but according to reports, the new device might be released in September or November. International Business Times UK reported that the handset might even be released this month.

Earlier reports indicate that the new handset will sport a five-inch display screen with a 1280 x 720 resolution. The new Moto G is expected to come with a 13 mega pixel camera on the back and a 5 mega pixel camera on the front.

Techno Buffalo recently reported that the new smartphone might pack Qualcomm's 1.4GHz Snapdragon 410 processor, along with 1 GB worth of RAM and 8 GB internal memory space that could be expanded using a microSD card.

The handset is also expected to support Wi-Fi, 4G LTE connectivity, HSPA and Bluetooth 4.0.

Earlier rumors reported that the new device appeared for a very short time on India's e-commerce website Flipkart and was later removed. Chief executive officer Yang Yuanqing of Lenovo also gave a hint earlier about the release of the new handset.
