After revealing "Mass Effect: Andromeda" at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 back in June, more details about the latest "Mass Effect" installment are starting to unfold. 

Over the weekend, video game franchise producer Michael Gamble told a Twitter follower that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will not be released on Nintendo Wii U consoles. Instead, Gamble said that they are developing the game to be compatible with next-generation consoles and PC. 

Bioware's "Mass Effect Andromeda" is not the only highly anticipated upcoming title that will not grace the Nintendo console. Other titles that are confirmed to be missing the Wii U include "Star Wars: Battlefront" and "Project CARS." This could be the effect of the complicated game engines and the problems of running high fidelity hardware. 

On the other hand, Bioware senior development director Chris Wynn revealed earlier this month that since the upcoming game will take place in the Milky Way one decade after the events of the game's first trilogy, it is impossible to bring back the old characters story-wise. 

While it is logical not to feature the major characters from the first three "Mass Effect" games, it is safe to assume that minor characters could still be allowed to join in the upcoming installment. However, Wynn could not divulge any information about it since the game is still in the early stages of development. The game studio did confirm that they will include some of the familiar elements of the older games like the races and the Mako for the element of nostalgia. 

Still, Gamble revealed that fans should never lose hope if they want to see some of the fan favorite characters like the Asari dancers. While the information came as a joke, the game producer still said that they should "never say never" when it comes to the Asaris. 

Also, Wynn earlier confirmed that the combat style in the game could somehow be similar to "Mass Effect 3."

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is scheduled for release in the last quarter of 2016.
