Lizard Squad has chosen its new prey. The black hat hacker group picked Google Vietnam as its next target to deface. As Lizard Squad went for it, visitors of the site were redirected to a page that declares the hacking. The defaced website plastered a photo of a man taking a selfie with an iPhone along with text that read, "Hacked by Lizard Squad, greetz from antichrist, Brian Krebs, sp3c, Komodo, ryan, HTP & Rory Andrew Godfrey (holding it down in Texas)." 

The group's latest scheme seems to be more than its usual display of travesty and mockery as it also attempted to talk its victims into buying DDOS (distributed denial of service) from its surprisingly still-available stresser site. The service hosted in Bosnia allows customers to knock a site offline for the right price. The promotion is not enough apparently as Lizard Squad wanted the inconvenienced users to visit their Twitter account, the hub of all its hacking disclosures. 

"We're aware that some users have been having trouble connecting to google.com.vn, or are being directed to a different website," Google said in an official statement. "We've reached out to the organization responsible for managing this domain name and hope to have the issue resolved shortly." 

Lizard Squad is responsible for a multitude of online disruptions in the past months. By overloading servers and overwhelming them with connection requests until they collapse, Lizard Squad managed to boot Xbox Live and PSN out of the Web a few times. The organization has also defaced the Malaysia Airlines website and posed a bomb threat involving the flight of Sony Online Corporation executive John Smedley. Also, there were several gaming studios that were victimized by the hacker group but no one could forget how it messed up with Facebook and Instagram.
