Lakewood Church Associate Teaching Pastor John Gray sent a message of support to pop star Justin Bieber on Monday, and over 20,000 people have retweeted his words of encouragement. 

"Yo @justinbieber I'm so proud of you and all you've accomplished and more importantly, the man you're becoming," Gray wrote, adding the hashtag "#OccupyAllStreets."

After Bieber retweeted the message to his over 57 million fans, tens of thousands of people expressed support for the star. 

"Occupy All Streets" is a book published by Hillsong NYC pastor Carl Lentz, a friend and advisor to the singer. 

On Sunday, Gray spoke at Hillsong, sharing preaching duties at the Pentecostal church's several services. It is unclear whether Bieber heard Gray's sermon.

Bieber, 20, is reportedly on a spiritual retreat, and was recently spotted with a copy of "Occupy All Streets."

The work encourages readers to spread the gospel and resist temptation, and the singer is allegedly abstaining from drugs, alcohol, and partying for two weeks. 

In a recent interview, Lentz admitted that he is trying to help the star, but said Bieber will weed out negative influences in his entourage on his own.

"He's on a journey, if he's not doing good, should we abandon him?" Lentz asked the New York Post.

"I think relationships in your life come and go. And I think what defines you is how you gauge who needs to stay and who needs to go.

"When he's with me, he rolls with me," the 36-year-old explained. "He's like a member of our team... He fits in like a piece of furniture."

While Bieber frequently attends Lentz's services, and also spends leisure time with Lentz and his family, Pastor Carl stopped short of classifying himself as a mentor or life coach for the singer.

"I have a special role in Justin's life, spiritually, but... I'm not a life-motivational guy," he explained. "We're talking about making sure his life remains a blessing, not a burden."
