Jill Dillard discussed the delivery of baby Israel David in an intimate video message filmed just hours after the delivery.

The "19 Kids and Counting" star shared her joy with the world in a Facebook post that announced that their baby had "made his arrival."

"He was born at 11:49 p.m. on April 6, 2015," Dillard began. "He weighed 9 lbs and 10 ounces and measured 23 inches long. We think he's adorable! Mom and baby are both doing wonderful.

"We are so thankful for his safe arrival and look forward to this great new journey called Parenthood!"

Dillard was originally due on March 27, but gave herself an alternate due date of April 5 because first-time mothers tend to be past due. However, April 5 came and went with no sight of the infant known to the world as "Baby Dilly."

Another unexpected occurrence was Dillard's hospital birth. The midwife-in-training preferred a home delivery, but circumstances that have yet to be revealed led to the hospital trip. The 23-year-old admitted that there were some surprises that led to Israel's healthy birth in the hospital instead.

"Not everything went as expected," she said in the video. "So we were reminded of the verse that the Bible talks about when 'Man plans his way but the Lord directs his steps.' We were encouraged by that."

Fans of the Duggar family will have to watch the hit show to find out what unexpected events led to Israel David coming into the world.

"He's just a handsome little fella and we'd like everybody to stay tuned to TLC," Dillard said, promoting the special episode. "May 5th, they're going to be showing the birth episode as well as things surrounding that."
