Warning Israel's sworn enemies that "we are ready for any scenario," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Iranian threat, saying "those who try to attack us—we will hurt them."

Addressing the commanders and troops of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) during a visit to the military's Northern Command on Tuesday, Netanyahu said Israel is ready to fight back anytime should it come under attack.

"Israel is strong, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) is strong, and we are ready for any scenario," he declared, according to Israel Hayom. "I was positively impressed both by the IDF's preparedness and by the determination of its commanders and soldiers."

Netanyahu cited the most recent threat issued by Iran's ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who said, "We will take all measures to support all those who fight against Israel."

The Israeli leader also noted the recent statement made in Beirut by Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who said the nuclear deal with the United States would create "a historic opportunity to stand against the Zionist entity."

Netanyahu said these statements by Iranian leaders only prove that Iran will use the billions of dollars it will get from the nuclear deal to strengthen terrorist organisations whose ultimate goal is to destroy Israel.

For his part, Israel's Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon admitted there is rising tension in the Golan Heights along the border with Syria. "It is not quiet on the Golan Heights and those who do not want quiet are the Iranians, who are trying to use proxies to carry out attacks against us," he said.

"Representatives of the Revolutionary Guards are currently waiting for the implementation of the bad agreement that is being formulated with the major powers in order to send more money to Hezbollah and the other terrorist organisations, both on the Golan Heights and in the Palestinian arena. Of course, the IDF is prepared; it will not allow violations of sovereignty on the Golan Heights," Ya'alon added.

He also noted that trouble is brewing inside Israel, particularly in Judea and Samaria, referring to a series of knife attacks. He noted that the IDF soldiers and Border Police personnel have responded quickly and professionally against all those who try to harm soldiers or civilians.

"We will not allow any terrorist element to attack our soldiers and civilians. Moreover, we will continue to take various steps against terrorism," he said.

"This week I approved the demolition of more terrorists' homes, terrorists who already committed their crimes, as part of our deterrent moves to prevent terrorism," the Israeli defence minister said.
