'Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2' trailer coming out next month?

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2Lionsgate Films

According to a report from Hypable, the first trailer for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2" might be released this June. The report explains that this is because the film is scheduled to launch in theaters on Nov. 20 and is expected to mimic the same marketing strategy previously used for "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay — Part 1."

There are no big blockbuster films from Lionsgate Films this June, according to a report from Enstarz, but that doesn't mean the studio won't start putting out trailers that can accompany other big summer hits. As the report points out, "San Andreas," "Jurassic World," and "Terminator Genisys" are all scheduled for release in June and the first "Mockingjay — Part 2" trailer might be released alongside any of them.

Fans may recall that Lionsgate released a short teaser back in March but this was nothing more than a short voice over by Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen, calling for all rebels to point there weapons at the Capitol, but it didn't give fans any glimpse into the film's special effects, action sequences, or plot.

The only wrench in this projection is that director Francis Lawrence already said that the trailer will not be shown early. As cited by Enstarz, Lawrence denied that the trailer would be shown at this year's San Diego Comic-Con although this might mean it won't be shown at the convention but may be released elsewhere.

Enstarz also points out that Projection List, which is normally accurate in determining when films and trailers will be unveiled, predicted that the first trailer for "Mockingjay — Part 2" would be unveiled on May 22 as it accompanies "The Age of Adaline." This turned out to be innaccurate. Projection List now predicts that the trailer will come out on July 1, accompanying "Terminator Genisys."

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2" will conclude "The Hunger Games" franchise and will focus on Katniss as she leads the rebellion against Panem President Snow and the rest of the army of the Capitol. The cast includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, and Elizabeth Banks.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2" is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 20.
