HTC One M9 release date in March 2015, but not at MWC

A tipster revealed that the HTC One M9 release date is pegged this March, but not at the Mobile World Congress. Tipster @upleaks claimed that the company is planning a separate event in March to announce the upcoming One M9, also reportedly called HTC Hima.

"I think HTC won't announce Hima at MWC 2015, it may be announced at their special event ..." reads the tweet of the tipster.

@upleaks gained credibility for leaking accurate information in the past, especially when it comes to HTC-related details.

It was previously reported that the handset will be launched at the aforementioned tech conference, but it seems that HTC wants the audience to focus solely on its smartphone without other handsets grabbing the limelight.

Also, the device is said to be called "Hima." It is speculated that HTC will drop the M line to be replaced by a new series of smartphones. However, it is still unclear whether the new smartphone will be named HTC One Hima or simply HTC Hima.

Meanwhile, HTC One M9 is predicted to have a 5-inch Full HD screen display and will be powered by the forthcoming Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor with 2.0 GHz quad-core A57+ 1.5GHz quad-core A53 clusters. The smartphone will also include the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with HTC Sense user interface, 32 GB internal storage; and 2840 mAh battery.

At the back, the HTC One M9 will feature a 20.7-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX220 sensor or 13-megapixel back camera. Just like the other HTC smartphones, the handset will boast a metal casing and front body speakers.

It looks like HTC is already prepping up for the release of the handset since a lot of HTC One M8 deals have already emerged. Discounts are often used to maximize the profits from the currrent model as well as to sell the remaining stocks of the device.

However, this should be taken with a grain of salt as the Taiwanese OEM manufacturer has announced nothing official yet.
