'Hannibal' season 4 renewal updates: Bryan Fuller awaits 'how the fates decide'

"Hannibal" season 4 still remains a long shot. In a previous interview with IGN, executive producer Bryan Fuller said that whether or not the series will go for another run is entirely up to the reaction of the fans to the finale. If the viewers are satisfied, this marks the end of the series. If not, he might return to the killer doctor's world once more.

Now that the finale has come and gone, Fuller weighs in on the matter again.

When asked by Digital Spy about the response toward the season-ender, he revealed, "It's interesting, because a lot of people were very content. The feedback has been that they're satisfied."

He added that for fans, the story "had an ending."

Although the satisfaction is there, Fuller said that fans are still likely tune in if the series ever came back around "in another form." It is still a mystery if that pertains to a fourth season or the long-rumored movie adaptation. For now, fans, just like Fuller, will have to wait "how the fates decide."

Nevertheless, the executive producerr continues to mention a film retelling rather than a new season if Hannibal was to come back. In the DIgital Spy interview, he said that he has to learn first whether or not producer Martha De Laurentiis is successful in bringing in a budget for the silver screen jump of "Hannibal."

"I'm waiting for instructions from above," he said.

Before NBC cancelled the series, Fuller had concrete plans for "Hannibal" season 4. He said that he had "a whole vegan agenda," at least for Alana and the female characters. He revealed that he wanted to see them "accomplishing great things, and undoing all of the horrors of the Verger family and name."

For now, he is not promising anything about the return of Hannibal, Will and the rest of the gang either on the small or big screen. He is, however, up for the idea of serving up another sumptuous dinner for the cannibalistic doctor.
