'Half Life 3' release updates: Game is nowhere near the horizon

This is a cool cover, but one thing than will be cooler than that is a new one dedicated "Half-life 3" cover.Wikipedia

After Valve's mind-boggling silence that led gamers to hatch speculations and engage into crazy chitchats about "Half Life 3," a new detail has, at long last, been revealed about the title. "Half Life" creator and Valve co-founder Gabe Newell, after his futile attempts to duck the question about the existence of the series refresh, was compelled to let the cat out of the bag in Motoring Crunch. It was discovered that developers over at Valve Corporation are not building "Half Life 3" at the moment.

Yes, it is not what fans wanted to hear, especially after their incredible patience. Getting an update about it was certainly helpful, but the truth really did hurt. It was not what eager fans were expecting.

But if there is one good thing that came out of the shocking reveal, it is the fact that Newell did not broach on the idea of abandoning the series for good. The first person shooter franchise may not be in the works at this moment in time, but this does not mean that the game won't be coming back in the future. The fortitude of the fans will again be challenged with this and everyone hopes that the protracted waiting will bear good fruit.

Master Herald echoes fans' hopes that Valve will not leave them hanging. Acknowledging the studio's fear that the installment will not be as good as the one they did 10 long years ago, fans think that choosing not to tie the whole thing with a bow would not be a nice gesture either. Besides, fans do not seem to care if they loop it with a scruffy one, but giving the series a proper ending is enough. Master Herald also reports that Valve has its hands full. And being the small group of developers that they are, it will take a considerable amount of time for "Half Life 3" to materialize.
