In the eleventh season of long running medical series "Grey's Anatomy", Alex and Meredith will share a special bond that will make Jo jealous.

Fans are aware that Alex and Jo's relationship will not go smoothly forever. According to E! News, Meredith and Alex's relationship will grow stronger, especially now that Cristina left for her private practice. The two have known each other from the very start as part of the first batch of residents.

Their special relationship will be the root of Jo's jealousy. This is understandable as both Alex and Meredith will face difficult challenges next season. Meredith will be torn about whether to stay or pack her bags and go with her husband Derek to Washington leaving behind her career in GSMH. Reports claimed that Derek and Mer's marriage will be on the rocks and on the verge of divorce. Meredith somehow felt like she had been cast aside and reportedly want to break up with her husband. However, she will not give up on him easily, but eventually their relationship will end. All signs point to possible divorce although nothing is concrete yet.

Alex, on the other hand, will have personal turmoil as she will fight for a position in the board. This means that Alex will clash with Bailey because he also wants the same position on the board. It was reported that Alex will makes sure that Bailey will have to put up a fight for the said position.

It is common knowledge that Alex and Meredith will not indulge in a romantic relationship. They are just two friends caring for each other.

The eleventh season of "Grey's Anatomy" will also focus on the relationship between Margaret "Maggie" Pierce and Meredith. Last season, it was revealed that Maggie is Mer's half-sister as she was Ellis Grey's daughter from her affair with Richard.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 11 will be back on air on Sept. 25 on ABC.
