God made two, not three genders - Pastor Robert Jeffress

Megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress reiterated his strong opposition to the controversial issue of transgender access to restrooms in a recent sermon.

In his sermon delivered to First Baptist Church in Dallas in Texas, the pastor cited Matthew 19:4 to explain his opposition.

"It's not that confusing. In Matthew 19:4, God's Words are applicable. The Bible says 'God made them from the beginning male and female.' Not male, female and question mark. God has determined how many sexes there are—there are two, not three," he said.

What causes confusion, he said is when the problem of gender identity confusion is used as a platform by social activists to advance their own agenda.

"Gender identity confusion should not be exploited by social activists — like those in the Obama administration — who want to deny the God-given distinction between the sexes. This is a rebellion against God's plan," he maintained as he criticised the current administration for advancing the homosexual agenda in public schools and the military.

Pastor Franklin Graham has also spoken out about the issue of transgender students being allowed to use bathrooms that do not correspond to their sex at birth and criticised President Barack Obama's decree to allow students to choose facilities based on their "internal sense of gender."

"Who does President Barack Obama think he is? The sultan of Washington? Does he think he can just make a 'decree' and we will bow down and simply obey? The decree he released today says that all schools across the country have to allow students to choose the restrooms and locker rooms according to 'their internal sense of gender'. If schools don't comply, he threatens loss of funding and lawsuits from the federal government. What about the privacy and protection of all the other students? Isn't this discrimination against all of them? This opens up bathrooms to sexual predators and perverts. A decree does not carry the force of law–that's the job of Congress. The president obviously must have no fear of God, who made us and created us male and female. I hope that school districts across this nation will defy President Obama and his administration's radical progressive agenda to promote and advance the sin of homosexuality and the LGBT agenda," he said on his Facebook page.
