Game of Thrones season 4 will be coming to an epic finale, and fans can't wait until the new season of the hit HBO fantasy drama.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Game of Thrones was renewed for a further 2 seasons – season 5 and season 6, so there is much to look forward to in the coming years.

In season 5, the setting will be on the King's Landings politics and the wildings. Fans should also expect to see 12 new characters, including Prince Doran Martell, Obara Sand, Nymeria Sand, Tyene Sand, Prince Trystane Martell, Areo Hotah, High Sparrow, Septa Unella, Maggi the Frog, Lollys Stokeworth, Yezzan and The Waif. Varamyr Sixskins, Imogen and Grand Maester Pycelle will be among other new characters.

Game of Thrones is based on author George R.R. Martin's fantasy series.

The first season of Game of Thrones premiered on April 17, 2011. The second season premiered a year after on April 1, 2012. Season 3 premiered on March 31, 2013, followed by season 4 on April 6, 2014.

If HBO follows the pattern of its past premiere dates, Game of Thrones season 5 is expected to premiere some time in April 2015. Filming of the series usually takes place during the second half of the year, followed by production in first quarter of the following year, and premiere date soon to follow.

So it looks like fans will be getting more of Game of Thrones until 2016. Season 7 has not been ordered yet, and author George R.R. Martin is currently still working on his latest book 'Winds of Winter' which will be more material to use for the Game of Thrones TV series.
