Exynos 7650 and 7890: Samsung's new processors

Samsung's success as far as their smartphones are concerned could all hinge on the power of their chipsets. Apparently the most powerful one in use nowadays is the Exynos 7420. But with demand rising and new features over the horizon, these chipsets are bound to come up short somewhere along the way.

On that note, it seems almost expected that Samsung will be coming up with new and more powerful chipsets soon. And if this rumor holds true, Samsung may be working on something to that effect, next and expectedly powerful chips in the Exynos 7890 and 7650.

All of this was seen via Linkedin by PhoneArena where it was revealed that Samsung was already hard at work in developing new chipsets which is presumably to be used for their next flagship phones. While hearing about such progress should not really come as a surprise, it is the capability of the said chips which deserves attention.

The two chips are described as 64-bit types which should bump up the power requirements that yet to be named Samsung devices will carry.

But before moving forward, it should be interesting to note how the Exynos 7420 will pan out as it is set to debut with the Samsung Galaxy S6. This would be interesting in the sense that Samsung veers away from the usual Snapdragon processors used in most of their handsets and help users and techies gauge the changes it brings.

As for the leaked Exynos 7650 and 7890, there is still no confirmation on where these new processors would be used. Some believe it would be on smartphones while others are betting that it could be used on tablets.

But wherever these new processors may eventually end up, the only thing certain is that Samsung is aggressively trying to bump up the internal components of its device lineup roster.

The though alone sends signals that aside from improving device performance, room for new features could be in store in the coming Samsung gadgets.
