The Community of Protestant Churches in Europe - Leuenberg Church Fellowship - has published the second edition of the European Protestant hymn book 'Colours of Grace'.

The first edition sold out in a few weeks soon after its publication last November, selling a massive 20,000 copies.

'Colours of Grace' collects together 157 hymns from all over Europe in 20 languages to form one of the most diverse hymn books ever.

As well as classical chorales there are hymns, spirituals and songs from Israel and Taiz, each supplemented with hymnological information.

'Colours of Grace' takes up "the tradition of ecumenical hymn books and continues it for the sphere of European Protestantism", says the CPCE.

With this in mind, the European Protestant hymn book has sparked great interest among the 105 CPCE member churches.

International communities and projects which cross frontiers are now using the new hymn book, as are ecumenical gatherings and conferences.

The second edition from Strube Verlag, Munich, will now meet the continuing high demand.
