After months of being silent about the release of the new "Elder Scrolls" installment, game developer Bethesda finally announced the new developments surrounding "Elder Scrolls 6."

Game director Matt Firor broke the news about the latest installment of the series. According to Firor, the release date of the PC edition of "Elder Scrolls Online: Update 6" will have to be delayed until early this year, specifically this January, while the game console versions are still under development. The game director said that the PC edition of the game has been given an updated interface design to work better for the next-generation gaming consoles like the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. Bethesda also added an improved voice chat and full integration so that the game will be compatible with the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. 

Meanwhile, several rumors surfaced about the development of a new "Elder Scrolls" game that will be set primarily in the world of Argonia, but all the other places in Tamriel like Morrowind, Hammerfall, Cyrodiil and Skyrim could still be explored. Speculations are also saying that "Elder Scroll 6" will be equipped with multiplayer options, just like what "GTA V" offers for its players.

Some rumors, on the other hand, claim that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version of "Elder Scroll 6" will come out as early as Christmas time this year or as late as the first quarter of 2016. 

In other news, several fans are now speculating that Bethesda is making "Elder Scrolls Online" as a free-to-play game after the game developer removed its subscription fee. According to reports, Bethesda decided to remove the six-month subscription option for "Elder Scrolls Online." However, the company retains its one-month and three-month subscriptions for the game, which means that the reports of a free-to-play "Elder Scrolls" game are not accurate. 

Yet Firor mentioned that game console owners who are waiting for the new "Elder Scrolls" to come their way should expect more news in the coming months.
