Those who want to play "Driveclub" for free should start downloading its PlayStation Plus Edition as soon as possible because Sony will take down the offer next week.

The announcement was made alongside the release of the latest free games line-up for PlayStation Plus subscribers for October 2015.

"'Driveclub' PlayStation Plus Edition will no longer be available as a free download for Plus members starting on October 6th, 2015. If you haven't downloaded it yet, be sure to go to PlayStation Store now before October 6th!," the announcement said.

The PlayStation Plus edition of Evolution Studio's racing video game was released in June, although it was supposed to come out on Oct. 31 last year together with the paid version of the game. The delay was caused by the problems that plagued the extended connection issues, and it took eight months before the game developer sorted out the bugs.

The "Driveclub" PlayStation Plus Edition was released with all the game modes and online features of the game's paid edition. However, players will only have limited options for vehicles and locations in the free game version.

President of Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Shuhei Yoshida told Eurogamer that he is not confident with Evolution Studios' capacity to keep the brand's engine running smoothly even if he is satisfied with the game developer's actions in fixing the game's issues after its challenging launch.

"The driving genre's a very difficult market right now," Yoshida stated. "The team, we need to find a great angle for the racing to continue, to come up with a new racing game, if we're to look at another racing title. Creative ideas come when things are tough, so that lightbulb moment, I'm looking forward to."

Meanwhile, several game titles will replace all the free games that will be removed next week for the October 2015 line-up, including:
