A Gift of Grace is the new booklet from the Methodist Church exploring the theme of grace in Scripture, poetry, hymns and reflections.
St Thérèse of Lisieux once said, "Everything is a grace because everything is God's gift."
This is one of the insightful quotes in the booklet, which has been published to help churches and individuals reflect on God's gift of grace.
A Gift of Grace is available to download as a free ebook here or can be purchased in print format from Methodist Publishing at £5 for 50 copies.
"God's grace is surprising, exciting and subversive but it can also be gentle and understated," said the Reverend Dr Mark Wakelin, President of the Methodist Conference.
"A Gift of Grace offers us the opportunity to reflect on this gift and to consider how we might pass it on to one another as a sign of God's love."
Charles R Swindoll is among those quoted in the booklet, saying: "Grace has to be the loveliest word in the English language. It embodies almost every attractive quality we hope to find in others. Grace is a gift of the humble to the humiliated. Grace is a gift of tender mercy when it makes the least sense."
Other contributors include the Reverend Ruth Gee, the President-Designate of the Methodist Conference, Julian of Norwich and Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
