The long wait for "The Awakening" expansion pack will come to an end for "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" players. The latest expansion pack will be arriving on the Xbox and PC platforms on March 3, and is expected to be over 9GB in size.

The latest DLC for "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" contains four new multi-player maps, namely Skyjacked, Splash, Gauntlet and Rise. This will also include the "Der Eisendrache" map that was released in early February for the PlayStation 4.

Skyjacked is an updated version of Hijacked, a multi-player map included in "Black Ops II," and has been one of gamers' favorites. It's a fast map, chaotic and fun to play in, and it has recently been updated to utilize the new core engine available for "Black Ops III."

Splash is an abandoned water park. The map includes obstacles and hiding places typical in a water park. There are water slides, a ruined pirate ship, and a river. The aquatic map can bring out improvised underwater gameplay from players.

Gauntlet is a military training facility and it offers three environments to work with. Players can traverse the jungle terrain, an arctic tundra, and a perfect rainy urban area.

Rise, the biggest of the four maps, is set in winter at a construction site outside Zurich. Players with great stealth skills will love this map.

Der Eisendrache, a German word that means "the iron dragon," is set in the Griffin Castle in Austria. It is a zombie map and an enemy research facility, which will surely give some chills to players. The facility will put players on the edge, especially the corners.

Gottabemobile is suggesting that "Black Ops III" players might want to start clearing up some space on their Xbox One or PC hard drives to make some room for the upcoming DLC. Those old beta files might still be stored there and now is the right time to clean them out.

Xbox One and PC fans also needs to install the February "Black Ops III" update, which includes bug fixes, before installing the upcoming "The Awakening" update.

"The Awakening" DLC is available for $14.99, while the "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" Season pass can be purchased for $49.99.
