Real estate entrepreneurs Benham Brothers say that there is looming danger for Christianity in the United States.

Twin brothers David and Jason Benham say there is a "growing threat on First Amendment rights to Christians around the nation" in an interview with the Christian Post.

The brothers made headlines last year after HGTV made the decision to scrap their television series "Flip It Forward" after opposition from liberal groups. The series was in the process of being produced when the station decided not to air it.  The liberal groups were critical of the brothers' affiliation with pro-life and pro-marriage groups.

The controversy arose after the brothers led a prayer rally in 2012 outside the Democratic National Convention held in Charlotte, North Carolina. This attracted criticism from the group Right Wing Watch, who labelled the brothers anti-choice extremists. Eventually HGTV cancelled "Flip It Forward," which would have followed the brothers "flipping homes for families in need."

Now they are urging Christians to unite and stand up for their rights, or lose them.

"The most important thing that we want people to understand, especially Christians, is now more than ever it's time for us to stand up for our faith whatever the cost," Jason said during the interview.

"It's a tenet of the Christian belief that you have to be willing to give God everything in order to receive the Kingdom of God," he continued. "But secondarily as citizens, especially of a great country that was founded on the principles of Christianity, we have to be willing to stand up for what we believe and not let threats of silence keep us silent."

Jason said that if Christians do not stand up now for their faith they will find themselves losing the liberties that they have enjoyed in the US since the beginning. 

"If that happens, we lose the liberties that so many who did stand and lose their lives so that we could have these liberties, we'll lose those things," he concluded.
