Residents of a town in Spain are starting to get really worried following the crash of a third mystery orb in their area.

A report in The Daily Express showed pictures of the bizarre object—a huge, silver sphere—which created a crater in the village of Villavieja in Spain, where the orb was found last Monday.

The Express also published photos of how scientists are handling the puzzling orbs with utmost care, even wearing gloves and protective gear while they study the mystery object. The civil guard also sealed off the area and guarded the orb before the investigators arrived.

José Vélez, the mayor of Calasparra, expressed concerns on behalf of his constituents about the potential threat posed by the strange object to their safety and security.

"I think it is a more serious issue than it seems. Citizens have real concerns about what is happening and deserve an explanation," Vélez was quoted as saying by The Express.

He added that questions about the peculiar orb must be answered immediately for the public's peace of mind.

"Where are these objects coming from? Why are they falling here precisely? Will more fall? And what would happen if any of these balls fall into a highly populated area?" the mayor asked.

The mystery, however, just continued to unravel, with farmers from the area reporting that they have seen seven or eight fireballs streaming across the night sky near where the latest orb was found.

This is already the third orb to be found in Spain in the past few days. The first one, estimated to be about 20 kilogrammes in weight, was located in a remote field in the village of Calasparra in Murcia.

Each of the mysterious objects is estimated to be 80 centimetres in diameter with a hole at one end and appeared to built around wire frames.
