There are instances where one wishes to have just an ordinary Android phone to use. There are those who need an extra phone just for backup, parents planning to grab Android phones for their kids, or people who are on a very tight budget but really need a phone to use -- no fancy functionality, just able to send and receive messages and calls, check email, surf the Web or do video chats.

The Motorola Moto G was released back in 2015 and is US$174 on Amazon. The phone offers a 5-inch HD display protected by Gorilla Glass and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410.
