Carl Lewis joins Christian evening with Olympians

On August 10, Christ Faith Tabernacle in London will host the Lay Witnesses for Christ International's 8th Evening with the Olympians. President Dr Sam Mings and the team are believing for the Lord to multiply outreach and catapult the Good News throughout the world.

Carl Lewis, Olympian of the Century, will again be on the platform and speak as he has done for the past seven Olympiads for this major outreach event. The Evening with the Olympians is a critical component of the LWFCI Olympic outreaches.

Korean television is sending two crews and anticipating 12 million Koreans to watch the event and Korea's Dr John Song, who translates for the Billy and Franklin Graham Crusades, will be on the platform.

Dr Mings noted: "Our ministry team helpers Celesta and Dick Howell have simply been the favourites of our entire team of 150 plus. They are two of God's choice servants - but we knew that as they have volunteered their vast talents for the past 23 years at the Christian Athlete Awards."

LWFCI team members come from throughout the world and focus on reaching the lost for Christ. Some call it "old time religion", others call it "front line evangelism", others refer to it as a return to John Wesley preaching, and it seems that the people on the streets of London are ready to listen and their hearts are open.

Dr Mings noted that LWFCI have held an awards service for Stage 1 team members who left on August 3. "We are getting busier every day," he says. "We're in the second stage of the Olympic ministry with fresh team members arriving in London."
