'The Walking Dead' season 5: Beth in love triangle with Andrew and Daryl?

The Walking Dead season 4 finale AMC

It seemed that aside from worrying about the zombies, Beth will also have love problems next season.

Actor Norman Reedus dropped a few hints that Daryl and Beth's romance will pick up next season. At the recent San Diego Comic Con, the cast and crew of the hit zombie apocalypse TV series graced the event and, as expected, some spoilers were revealed.

Since Beth and Daryl were stuck together last season, it did not take long before the fans speculated that the two will develop a romantic relationship. According to She Knows, Norman Reedus agreed with the viewers, but is unsure whether the people behind the scenes were aware of it.

"This is how I took it, doing it. I took it like, if Daryl had feelings for Beth, he didn't understand them. So he was like a child, like, 'I don't understand what this means.' But, it was more intimate than a coupling," the report cited Norman Reedus as saying.

The rumor of a possible romance between the two was fueled by the statement of director and executive producer Greg Nicotera. "When they pitched Season 4, they were talking about when the prison goes down and having Daryl and Beth be bunkered together. And it's interesting because I get to see all the cuts and I see all the edits from the director's cuts onward. And I loved the scene in the kitchen when they're talking, and I got the sense that Daryl was starting to kind of fall in love with Beth a little," he said.

Meanwhile, it was reported last week that "Divergent" and "The Fault In Our Stars" actor Ansel Elgort will join the roster of TWD cast next season and will be playing a character named Andrew. The actor is rumored to play the new love interest of Beth although the actor and AMC have not confirmed the rumors yet.

The latest rumor was sparked by the tweet of @TheWalkingNews. The said account posted a photo of the actor with a caption, "@AnselElgort of TFIOS will be playing Andrew in Season 5 of #TheWalkingDead who could have a 'thing' with Beth!"

'The Walking Dead' Season 5 is currently filming in Atlanta. "The Walking Dead" season 5 will come back on air in October at AMC.
