Premier celebrates 9th Birthday at Westminster Chapel

Tuesday 22nd June marks the 9th birthday of the UK's largest Christian Radio Station, Premier Christian Radio. The celebration will take place at Westminster Chapel with worship led by Muyima, John Pantry and Noel Robinson. It will be a night filled with worship and prayer; moreover exciting news about the future of Premier will be announced.

According to Premier, the managing director Peter Kerridge will make a major announcement about the station's future. "I can't say any more than that at the moment, but it's massive news for us – potentially the biggest development in our history." he says.

"We're very proud this month to be able to celebrate nine years of great Christian broadcasting, both to London through our Medium Wave license, and to the rest of the UK and beyond via our NTL, Sky Digital and Internet broadcasts. We're always very enthusiastic when the station's birthday comes around, but this year we've got an extra reason to be excited." Kerridge continued.

Moving towards the 10th year, Premier hopes to improve the medium wave signal quality in London. Due to the limitation of low power of regulator and of number of high buildings in the capital, it is difficult to hear the programmes in some places. Premier requests prayer for the increase of power, recently there has been the possibility of a breakthrough that the regulator will help further by improving the signal across the region in West London.

Premier also wishes to bring Christian digital radio into the country by the end of this year, which offers a much better quality of signal than traditional medium wave.

In addition, a number of licences may possibly be advertised across the UK. This could lead to Christian radio being established in other parts of the country which Premier has previously been campaigned for.
