Orange is the New Black season 2 release date imminent as cast celebrate end of filming; Laura Prepon to appear in most episodes

Orange is the New Black season 2 has wrapped up filming last week and fans of the wildly popular show are waiting for the release date to be announced.

The OITNB season 2 release date is expected to be shortly after the launch of House of Cards' second season, which is set for a Valentine's day release on Netflix.

Cast of the OITNB season 2 recently got together to celebrate wrapping up filming of 13 new episodes for the new season with a roller-skating disco-party.

Latest cast rumors for the show include the return of Alex Vause, played by Laura Prepon. Though it was previously rumored that Prepon will only return for four episodes of the new season, show creator Jenji Kohan recently revealed that the actress will be returning in most of the episodes.

Kohan told Us Weekly: "Yes, yes, she is coming back. Not the whole season, but...you'll see her for most of it."

The new season will be delving deeper into other individual characters on the show.

Meanwhile, actress Jodie Foster was spotted directing some scenes of OITNB. Foster was spotted in Riverhead early Friday morning directing a scene at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility.

In other OITNB news, it has been revealed that actress Lori Petty will be appearing as a guest star in the new series. However, it is not known what character Petty will be playing.

Exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of OITNB have been posted on the show's Instagram account.
