MAIN DUTIES: We are looking to employ a full-time assistant curate religious worker to support our existing team of senior pastors and church management staff. The role will assist the church service team for the multiple services we run throughout each week, including Sunday services and mid-week services. The religious worker must be able to speak Mandarin. The religious worker will assist run Bible study program activities, and support the administering of weekly and monthly Christian rites and ceremonies. A prominent role will also be required in the running of our annual retreats programs, where we have summer, autumn, Christmas, new year, Easter and Pentecost retreats. The religious worker will be overseen and guided by a Senior Pastor. The role will also include providing spiritual support for our Chinese speaking congregants, maintaining the sanctum of the chapel, as well as assisting in a wide-range of social activities, outreach ministries, and locally-based projects that will serve and help the local community.

This position will involve joining Olivet Assembly’s pastoral team, which will include leading multiple services in Mandarin held throughout the week, including Sunday Services, and mid-week services. The role will require the Pastor to assist with preaching in our regular services, as well as Bible Studies for weekly prayer meetings, and assist in the provision of our Bible Study courses as required throughout the year. The pastor will also join our ministerial leadership team, which organises Christian retreats at Easter, Pentecost, Summer and Christmas.

LOCATION: Pilgrim Hall, Uckfield, East Sussex
SALARY: £18,000 per annum; accommodation and all meals provided free of charge.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE: The successful application must have an in-depth knowledge of Evangelical church denomination ceremonies and Christian rites, and should have worked within an Evangelical church for at least 3 years in a role relevant to religious work and general church activities. It is highly preferable for the successful applicant to be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of assisting in the organising and running of Sunday services, mid-week services, baptisms, and monthly mass events, desirably in the World Olivet Assembly (WOA) denomination service format. Experience in leading and assisting in the running of Bible study programs, experience in guiding congregants spiritually using the scriptures, supporting Christian social activities and local outreach and community events is also desirable.
