WWE news 2018: WWE frees Rich Swann from contract after domestic violence arrest

WWE releases contract with Rich Swann.WWE

Former cruiserweight champion Rich Swann has officially been released from his contract with TV wrestling tycoon World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

In an official announcement on its website, WWE detailed that Swann's exit from the show was made in mutual agreement.

However, other intimate information about Swann's departure is not stated.

The dissolution of the ex-wrestler's contract followed after his indefinite suspension on the show last year -- due to reports of domestic violence.

According to reports, the former wrestling star was arrested by Gainesville Florida Police and was charged with misdemeanor and felony against his wife Vannarah Riggs.

Gainesville Police said that Swann got into an argument with Riggs, who is also a wrestler employed on the independent scene, while coming back from the latter's wrestling match.

The small talk became heated instantly. Riggs, trying to de-escalate the confrontation, went out of the car. But eyewitnesses say that Swann followed her and put Riggs in a "headlock'' before "shoving" her back into the car, while she was "screaming for help."

Swann reasoned against investigators, telling them that he did not force Riggs back into the vehicle.

Swann first entered the wrestling scene through Raw and eventually clinching the cruiserweight trophy against Brian Kendrick in 2016.

He became the latest evictee in the 205 Live division after Enzo Amore's departure last January.
