Paramount and Saber Interactive are working together on the upcoming zombie apocalypse video game "World War Z." The game was unveiled during the Game Awards event last Thursday and it revealed a relentless flood of zombies.

The upcoming game will feature a four-player cooperative third-person shooter gameplay. "World War Z" will be released in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Saber and Paramount are yet to announce the release date of the game.

The trailer of the game starts with dialogues indicating that zombies had taken over the planet with not even nature and the army able to hold them off. The teaser also features a few seconds of the gameplay mechanics with the characters shooting at hundreds of sprinting zombies. The video also shows several areas like an abandoned city and a frozen wasteland.

The trailer ends with the quote, "70,000 years at the top of the food chain. It was fun while it lasted."

The video game is an adaptation of the 2013 thriller film "World War Z" starring Golden Globe Winner Brad Pitt. The movie adaptation was based on the novel with the same title released in 2006 by Max Brooks. Few publications say that the game will most likely be modeled from the film rather than the novel with Paramount's involvement.

There are no updates yet from either Paramount or Saber if the game will feature the actors from the movie such as Pitt who portrayed the character Gerry Lane.

The trailer received fairly good feedback from gamers and critics. However, the game also gained a few negative comments prior to its graphics. Based on YouTube comments from netizens, the graphics of the trailer do not maximize the full capacity of the game. Others compared it to the video game franchise "Left 4 Dead," which is also a cooperative first-person shooter video game tackling zombie apocalypse.
