It has been over a decade since popular racing franchise "V-Rally" released a new installment for its native console Sony's PlayStation. For years now, players have been waiting quite patiently for updates regarding one of racing genre's original progenitors. And luckily, the years of waiting ends now as publisher BigBen Interactive and developer Kylotonn Games have broken the news to the interwebs of upcoming title "V-Rally 4."

According to the duo's announcement, the new installment in the beloved racing franchise will be seeing a release later this 2018 and will be dominating not only the PlayStation 4, but also on other popular platforms such as the Xbox One, PC, and Switch.

Although now confirmed, the two game industry veterans have yet to issue an official release date for "V-Rally 4;" however, they insisted that it will be debuting within September of 2018.

In the development department, Kylotonn Games will once again helm the project just like in its previous iterations. Now for those asking why it took this massive amount of time to release another title in the series, developer Kylotonn Game has been busy with producing other amazing titles such as FlatOut 4, WRC 7, and TT Isle of Man.

Game Director for the studio Alain Jarniou expressed his excitement on once again working on the "V-Rally" franchise.

"It's a real privilege for me to once again work on the V-Rally series. It's an extraordinary title that I have a very special connection to. I had a chance to join the team that created V-Rally to develop V-Rally 3 on the PlayStation 2 as a programmer. I'm very proud to be working on the franchise again 15 years later," Jarniou shared.

Graphic-wise, players should expect "V-Rally 4" to be more impressive than before as advancements in the visual department during its 15-year hiatus have come about and are in abundance.

In terms of gameplay, the new installment will come with new racing modes such as Extreme-Khana, Buggy, Hillclimb, and Rally to V-Rally Cross. In addition to this, a new career mode and an online mode will be integrated in this new game title.

On top of this, players will be able to pick among the 50 strong roster of cars the new game will be featuring. Included on this list are the Ford Fiesta RS RX, the Ford Mustang, and the Porsche 911 Safari.
