"Tom Clancy's The Division" was initially announced to have a 2014 launch but this was delayed to 2015. Now, according to a report from PCGamer, the rollout of the upcoming open-world third-person shooter RPG has been pushed back a second time and it currently has a tentative release date of early 2016. 

The report says that the new release schedule was revealed in Ubisoft's recently published fiscal year report. According to the game developer's documents, which are available online as a PDF file, the game is set for release during the fourth quarter of the company's 2016 fiscal year. This means that the game will become available between Jan. 1 and March 31 of 2016. 

With a 2016 release date, the game will be launched a full two years after its originally planned release and it will be four years since the company began development on the game, one of the longest development periods for any Ubisoft title. 

Despite the delay, the report points out that Ubisoft will still keep the game present during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, along with their upcoming "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" and "Rainbow Six: Siege" titles. All three will have a playable demo during the convention, allowing players to get a good feel of how the games' mechanics work and what they look like in motion. 

This was further cemented by Ubisoft co-founder and CEO, Yves Guillemot, when he explained the company's approach to the E3 in an interview with Gamepur. 

He said, "E3 is always a very special moment for the entire gaming community because we all come together to share our visions for the future of entertainment and reveal the games into which we've been pouring our energy and passion. The players' excitement and feedback when they first experience what we're developing is what motivates us the most."

"Tom Clancy's The Division" will be available for the PS4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
