The Bible TV show creators Roma Downey and Mark Burnett to receive award

Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, creators of The Bible TV series are to jointly receive the World Evangelical Alliance's Entrepreneurial Leader Award 2013.

The series was watched by over 100 million people worldwide, with 13 million tuning in for the first episode. The show is also up for three Emmy awards, including "Outstanding Miniseries or Movie".

Downey and Burnett will be honoured at the 8th annual Entrepreneurial Leaders Conference to be held in Vancouver, Canada on November 14 and 15.

Dr Geoff Tunnicliffe, WEA Secretary General, said the pair were very worthy joint recipients of the award for their charity work as well as their production of The Bible.

Richard Goossen, Chairman of the Entrepreneurial Leaders Organisation, said they reflected the award's purpose to recognise the application of entrepreneurial creativity and talent for positive social impact.

Downey and Burnett will receive the award during the Entrepreneurial Leaders Conference and deliver the keynote address.
