'The Sims 4' cheats and codes for career promotions, emotions, improving camera functions and more

How about a little cheat code to make the new Sims experience a little more enjoyable?

EA Maxis launched "The Sims 4" last Sept. 2 for PC users, and fans of the life simulation game are having a lot of fun with it. Yet players will definitely appreciate the game more once they learn about the game's cheat codes.

This easy-to-follow cheat codes and commands can help players amass unlimited supply of cash as well as real estate properties.

Here are some of the most useful cheat codes and mods for "The Sims 4."

For the cheat console opening command, press Ctrl + Shift + C. When a small window appears, players can start typing the following codes to unlock different functions.

To input a character's career:

Careers.promote [NameOfCareer] — the Sim gets promoted in its current career, including:

  • careers.promote Astronaut
  • careers.promote Criminal
  • careers.promote Culinary
  • careers.promote Entertainer
  • careers.promote Painter
  • careers.promote SecretAgent
  • careers.promote TechGuru
  • careers.promote Writer

Careers.demote [NameOfCareer] – the SIM can get demoted in current career

Careers.add_career [NameOfCareer] – enables the player to add a new career

Careers.remove_career [NameOfCareer] – allows the player to remove a career

Careers.promote Gradeschool – increases a child's grade performance by one letter

Careers.promote Highschool – increases a teenager's grade performance by one letter

For controlling emotions:

  • FlirtyLow or FlirtyHigh
  • EnergizedLow or EnergizedHigh
  • InspiredLow or InspiredHigh
  • PlayfulLow or PlayfulHigh

To make the camera function better:

  • Right-click on the Sim's portrait to make the camera follow it wherever it goes.
  • Press T to toggle top down view
  • Press Page Up to go upstairs
  • Press Page Down to go downstairs
  • Press Home for Walls Up
  • Press End for Walls Down

And for players who want to end all the pesky tutorial notifications, Kotaku posted these instructions:

  1. Open the Origin Client
  2. Right Click The Sims 4 game cover
  3. Select "View Game Properties"
  4. Click "Game Properties." This will open a popup box.
  5. Add the following line to the Command Line Arguments box and hit apply: ––no_tutorial

And typing "motherlode" in the box instantly increases the SIM's cash by $50,000.
