10th Anniversary Celebration of Women Priests and St Paul’s

The celebration of the tenth anniversary of the ordination of women to the priesthood took place last Saturday at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.

Changes that have come about in the Church of England during the past ten years reveal that 2,000 women priests have been ministering alongside the 8,000 male priests in parishes. “The Church has responded to the challenge of faithful change,” said the Rev. Angela Tilby, who preached on the Saturday celebrations. Women priests also serve as chaplains in hospitals, universities, prisons and armed forces.
