Following "Justice League's" release in cinemas last month, DC Comics fans now turn their attention to upcoming films from the franchise, particularly "The Flash" standalone movie titled "Flashpoint."

In an exclusive with Variety, it was revealed that DC plans to work with ''Spiderman: Homecoming'' screenwriters, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.

Initially, the director's chair was said to have been offered to "Batman" actor Ben Affleck who gave it a pass. The said movie was put on hold after director Rick Famuyiwa left the project as well, mostly due to "creative differences." The scriptwriter himself, Seth Grahame-Smith, had also left the scene before Famuyiwa did.

With an attempt to make employ a new approach in making the movie, DC Comics seems to be considering giving the ''Flashpoint'' a comedic twist which matches the directing background of the two screenwriters from Marvel.

Other names have also been tapped by DC Comics to work on the production of its comic book movies.

Walter Hamada, New Line executive, has just been promoted to oversee the comic book movies similar to the newest producer onboard to work on the sequel of ''Suicide Squad,'' Michael de Luca. Charles Roven, president of Atlas Entertainment and producer of "The Dark Knight Trilogy," "Man of Steel" and many more, remains to be the lead producer.

As for the main character, Ezra Miller will most likely be reprising his role as the
"Flash." "The dynamic is really special. I think I really love my fellow Justice League members," said Miller in an official interview with Warner Brothers.

However, DC Comics executives still seem to be on the lookout for a new lead since Miller is also occupied with shooting for the second installment of "Fantastic Beasts," "The Crimes of Grindelwald."

The next DC movie to be shown in theaters, in collaboration with the Warner Bros., would be "Aquaman," which is headlined by "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa, who also played the same character in "Justice League."

The official release date for "Flashpoint" has not been announced yet.
