'The Evil Within 2' news: Free trial available on Steam

Bethesda, developer of the hit horror, psychological survival game "The Evil Within 2," has announced that players will have a chance to play the trial mode for free by downloading it on Steam.

Players who want to try out "The Evil Within 2" could easily grab the opportunity to see the first few events of the game, as announced by Bethesda. The good news came with a trailer, which showed the game's protagonist, Sebastian Castanellos, and his journey to save his daughter Lily.

Many feel that the free trial could greatly help gamers decide whether buying the game would be a bang for the buck. "At the end of the trial, if you choose to upgrade to the full game, all of your save data will carry over, allowing you to pick up right where you left off," Bethesda explained. Aside from this, what awaits players are more streets of Union.

Bethesda also promised ultimate gaming experience for those who will try the game, saying that players will get to see "some of the game's tight, nightmare-riddled, linear experiences." Players will as well be able to customize Sebastian.

"The Evil Within 2" is the sequel to the 2014 hit game, created by Shinji Mikami, who is also behind "Resident Evil." It has well been received and earned high ratings from various critics. Polygon described the game as "brilliant horror game with a masterful sense of pacing" and gave a 9 out of 10 rating, while GameSpot rated it with 8 over 10.

The game lets players take on the role of Sebastian, a former detective, who has sought the help of Mobius to find and save his daughter. Fans will see the character fighting all sorts of scary creatures and come face to face with disturbing encounters.
