It is often difficult to remember in our hectic modern lives that our God is a God of peace.
We are bombarded with 24/7 news updates, and often find that we spend our time rushing from place to place and event to event. It is sometimes helpful to remind ourselves that God did not speak in the wind, the fire or the earthquake, but He spoke in the silence.
We worship a God of peace. It's one of the gifts we receive from his Spirit, and He tells us that those who make peace are blessed. Here are 10 Bible passages to help remind you of that.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
"These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."
1 Peter 5:7
"Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."
"For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace."
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip – he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you – the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and for evermore."
"May the God of peace be with you all. Amen."
