"Scandal" season 3 episode 2 will be airing tonight on at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

The official synopsis for "Scandal" season 3 episode 2 titled "Who's Coming to Dinner?" is as follows:

"The origins of Olivia's distant relationship with her dad are revealed through flashbacks. Meanwhile, the White House and Olivia's firm continue to try to fix the damage they've done."

Show creator Shonda Rhimes dished to the Hollywood Reporter on the character of Olivia'a father: "It has a huge impact for him to be back in her life. I love that we left the end of last season with a billion questions to be answered about her father. All you know is that man is her dad; you don't know what the relationship is or what's going on with them and we get to explore that. It's going to be great."

Rhimes also said, "We had a lot of flashbacks last season -- we had several episodes that were just flashbacks -- and we did them in season one. I don't know that we'll be doing a lot of flashbacks this season. At this point, we do have some flashbacks planned."

Tonight's episode will see Olivia Pope addressing the press and denying that Berkeley graduate Jeannine was romantically involved with the President Fitzgerald Grant.

A record 10.5 million viewers had tuned in to watch the season premiere episode of "Scandal" last week.
