The remaining days of 2017 are already numbered, and it is time to look forward to what the coming year has to offer, including the next lineup of smartphones. As for Samsung, the South Korean tech firm is expected to launch its mid-range handset collection first, of which the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) is included. The latest benchmark listing shows that the new Galaxy A5 will boast a 4GB RAM, plus two 16MP cameras on its front and back portions.

As reported by Android Headlines, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) finally appeared on the GFXBench page, being listed as "SM-A530x." The details provided by the latest benchmark listing pretty much confirm the previous rumors surrounding the mid-range gadget. For one, the 2018 Galaxy A5 is said to sport a 5.6-inch Full HD+ display with up to 2,220x1,080 pixel resolution. Including the dimensions of the outer casing and touchscreen panel, the smartphone's aspect ratio reaches 18:5:9. Still, the online publication warned that the GFXBench list could have shown slightly altered value. For example, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) may end up with a 5.7-inch display, a slight tick above the GFXBench specs listing.

The GFXBench benchmarking result shows the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) powered by an octa-core mobile processor under the hood with a clock speed of up to 2.1GHz. It is rumored that this mobile chipset might be the latest Exynos 7885 64-bit octa-core processor, accompanied by the ARM Mali G71 GPU.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) is spotted to have 4GB of RAM and 32GB worth of internal storage capacity. GFXBench also listed that mid-range smartphone to run the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS version, contrary to earlier reports that the upcoming handset would feature the Android Oreo update out of the box. Samsung's own user interface (UI) compatible with the Android operating system will run in the background. The NFC feature will also be included in the list of Galaxy A5 (2018) features, although the heart rate sensor is not one of it.

Samsung has already officially announced the Galaxy A8 and A8+ (2018) to be included in its mid-range lineup for early next year. However, the South Korean tech firm has yet to confirm the launch of the new A5 model next year. The device is expected to be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 on Jan. 9.
