PS4 vs Xbox One release date: Exclusives, list of launch day titles, BestBuy pre-order pickup details

Xbox One

With just weeks to go until Sony's Playstation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One finally hit the shelves, reports are stating that the resolution will differ across different console platforms for some games.

"Call of Duty: Ghosts," which will launch on Nov. 5 in both the PS4 and Xbox (with the Xbox One version being available on Nov. 15), is an example of one such game that will run on different resolutions depending on the platform.

According to developer Infinity Ward, the game will run at 1920x1080p on the PS4, but a lower resolution of 1280x720p for the Xbox One.

Digital Foundry reports that the PS4 also offers a higher resolution than the Xbox One for "Battlefield 4."

Popular games such as Assassin's Creed IV, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Fifa 14, Just Dance 2014, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Madden NFL 25, NBA 2k14, NBA Live 14, and Need for Speed: Rivals will be available for both consoles.

The Playstation 4 will launch on Nov. 15 in the U.S. and Canada. The console will be released in Europe, Australia and New Zealand on Nov. 29, 2013.
