Prescott Celebrates Brother’s Commission as Church Army Evangelist

The Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott MP attended a service held this week at Church Army’s Wilson Carlile College of Evangelism in Sheffield to watch his younger brother Adrian be commissioned as a Church Army evangelist.

Mr Prescott commended the quality of the service as, "very moving and quite unlike any other church service that I have attended before – I was impressed by the spirit and commitment of everyone here today – they showed me just how people of faith can make a real difference to communities."

Mr Prescott went on to praise the work of the Church Army particularly: "As a cabinet minister charged with the responsibility of investing millions of pounds into our communities I am delighted to see that Church Army is focussed in making a difference where it counts – out in the real world with real people."

The Church Army warmly received Mr Prescott, who is MP for Hull East, with Hull-born Philip Johanson saying he "represented the best constituency in the UK". Mr Prescott met with evangelists, college staff and their families and friends after the service.
