Game developer Niantic wants "Pokemon GO" players to come together through a new event that will kick off soon. The event is called Community Day wherein trainers will get some exciting perks.

To recall, Niantic launched a community event last summer that they consider an experiment for future events. Unfortunately, there were server errors and internet issues that made the game unplayable. But this time, Niantic figured out a way to bring together the game's trainers from around the globe.

Following the failure of last year's "Pokemon GO" festival, some players have lost their interest in joining events, especially because of some technical failures. But this time, Niantic will feature a worldwide in-game event that will unify trainers. Unlike the previous community event, Niantic hopes that this one will be successful.

According to reports, the event will give players the chance to catch some special Pokemon with unique powerful exclusive moves and abilities. There will also be double XP for trainers, and unique items will be available. A new version of Pikachu featuring the Surf move will also be seen during the event.

Instead of holding the event for a just a day, Niantic is planning to host one Community Day per month. Every event will offer unique bonuses each month as well as rare pocket monsters to capture. For those in America and Greenland, the Community Day will start on Jan. 20 from 11 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon Pacific time.

"We're constantly blown away by the passion of Pokemon Go players around the world, and we hope that each Pokemon Go Community Day will help add to the excitement of local events and meetups," Niantic says on its official website.

The developer also reminds players to be always alert and stay safe while playing. It also advises trainers to respect public spaces when exploring the community. Niantic is encouraging players to share their stories and unique catch on social media with the hashtag #PokemonGoCommunityDay.
