PlayStation Plus January 2016 free games: PS Europe uploads wrong title as part of free games

The start of a new month means another surprise treat for PlayStation Plus subscribers as new games will be added to their libraries as free downloads. However, PlayStation Europe reportedly uploaded a wrong title as part of the January list.

According to Attack of the Fanboy, PS Europe immediately issued a statement regarding the error. The Twitter account for the European branch quickly took to the social media site and posted, "Heads-up PS Plus members – Legends of War: Patton's Campaign (PSP) was mistakenly included in January's Monthly Games. "

The post then continued to address the issue, saying that it was quickly resolved: "It has now been replaced with History: Legends of War (PS Vita)."

The industry follower said that the mistake might have been caused by a confusion with the titles since both have "Legends of War" in them. Meanwhile, the report also added that fans familiar with PlayStation's PS Plus program might have immediately pointed out the error since the program's handlheld titles only lists PS Vita games, not games for the PSP.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, PlayStation US announced the full lineup of free PS Plus games for the month of January via its official blog. According to the announcement, PS Plus subscribers will have six choices of free game downloads until the end of January.

For PS4 owners, the PS Plus program unlocks "Hardware: Rivals" and "Grim Fandango: Remastered," the latter also available for the PS Vita. Meanwhile, PS3 console owners get "Dragon Age: Origins" and "Medal of Honor: Warfighter."

In addition to "History: Legends of War" and "Grim Fandango: Remastered," PS Vita players can also download "Nihilumbra" for free.

Aside from the free games, PS4 players also get an additional treat for the PS Plus program. Its interface recently got overhauled, getting its own icon and tabs on the PS4 homescreen.
