Chinese internet giant Tencent recently announced two new mobile titles for the multiplayer online battle royale game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" (PUBG). It was previously teased by the company that PUGB was coming to mobile devices and it surprised fans that it is working on two mobile games.

The first game is "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile: Army Attack," which has a more arcade approach. The trailer shows motorcycle stunts, naval combat, explosions, and more action. Unlike the original game, this one is not restricted to an island. Instead, players can go to the seas using gun-laden boats. The game is developed by Timi Studio, which also worked on "Honor of Kings."

Gamers will get a more traditional battle royale experience from the second mobile game titled, "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile: Battlefield." Made by Lightspeed & Quantum Studio, this one is closer to the standard PC version of the game.

Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad said that both games are made using Epic's Unreal Engine 4. This game engine is designed for different operating systems and consoles. It worked on titles like "Tekken 7," "Street Fighter 5," "Kingdom of Hearts III," and more.

Tencent did not announce the exact date of the game's release. However, it will first roll out in China before it becomes available to the rest of the world.

Meanwhile, the original "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" is currently in Early Access and is set to hit Xbox One on Dec. 12. Its full 1.0 version on PC will be launched later this month. The first update will include climbing, vaulting, and new vehicles. Aside from that, gamers are also anticipating a new map coming to the game.

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" used the 2000 film "Battle Royale" for inspiration. Up to 100 players can join the game, and the last player or team will be the winner. The setting is on an island, which features a safe area that decreases in size as the game progress.
