Peaches Geldof was secretly seeking treatment for her heroin addiction, according to a confidential source at a Kent drug rehabilitation clinic.

On May 1, the source revealed that the 25-year old British socialite was on methadone—an opiod used to treat heroin—and visited the clinic on a weekly basis.

Geldof was found dead in her home on April 7 by her husband, punk band S.C.U.M. frontman Thomas Cohen. A toxicology report, released yesterday, revealed that recent heroin use contributed to the socialite's death.

Visits to a drug clinic in Maidstone, Kent appear to have been Geldof's last attempt at sobriety.

She allegedly went to the clinic wearing a hoodie for anonymity. The confidential source said he recognized her anyway.

"She told me her name was Peaches," he told The Sun. "That was when it clicked— Peaches Geldof."

The source also said that the former journalist and model was adamant about hiding her rehab visits from her family.

"She said, 'You'd better not say anything to anybody'. She didn't want her husband finding out," he reported. "She said he was completely straight and that Dad would go spare if he knew anything about it.

"She was most concerned about her husband," the source explained.

"She said, 'You won't believe it he's a really straight family man. I married a really straight really nice bloke. He won't understand, it would affect my kids'."

Geldof had two sons with her husband—Astala, 2, and Phaedra, 1.

Cohen may face interrogations from police regarding his wife's death and drug use, as officials found no paraphernalia or other evidence of drugs during their initial investigation. Some have questioned whether evidence was hidden or disposed of before police arrived.

Police may also question Geldof's friends in hopes of discovering who supplied her with the illegal drug found in her system. An inquest into her death was opened on May 1.

Geldof's mother, British television personality Paula Yates, died of a heroin overdose when Geldof was 11 years old.
