Amidst all of life's challenges, there is one biblical character that Christians should emulate when it comes to obeying God's commands—Moses.

This is what Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church said during his recent sermon entitled "Handle It."

He shared the passage Exodus 4:1-5 from the Bible, which proves that God will always help Christians handle problems they cannot solve on their own. On the flip side, God will not help people unless they help themselves.

"I don't know what you're going through. I don't know what you're dealing with. But God told me to tell you to handle it," the megachurch pastor said.

The Bible verses from Exodus show how Moses remained obedient to God even though he did not understand what was happening. God instructed Moses to take his staff and throw it to the ground, and it turned into a snake. As terrifying as it was to approach a snake, Moses did so after God told him to "take it by the tail."

The Scripture reads, "Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. 'This,' said the Lord, 'is so that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers —the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob — has appeared to you.'"

Furtick explained that the staff is evidence that everything people need in life is already within their reach. Sadly, a lot of people hold themselves back out of fear or worry.

"Do you know how many dreams have died beneath the phrase 'what if?'" Furtick asked. "The information that you need for the transformation of your life is waiting to be seized by those who will open their eyes to what they've been given."

"It's less about what you have, and it's more about how you handle what you have," he added.

Furtick concluded his sermon by sharing the well-loved verse Philippians 4:13, which reads: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
