For televangelist Jim Bakker of "The Jim Bakker Show," the extreme weather conditions that Americans experienced lately were caused by the "spirit of ISIS," referring to the Islamic State jihadist and terrorist group.
Bakker said floods, wildfires, record warm temperatures, and unusually strong blizzards are actually a "warning from God" for people to "wake up" to the truth about God and His Word, according to Raw Story.
The televangelist added that if the weather proved anything, it's the fact that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are now "out of the barn."
"The white horse of the antichrist spirit, the ISIS spirit, it's there but we don't know it!" he exclaimed.
Bakker shared the Bible verse Matthew 24:7 where Jesus Christ foretells the destruction of Jerusalem and His temple prior to His second coming. The verse reads, "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places."
His co-host Rick Wiles added, "And that antichrist spirit is not only the ISIS spirit and the Islamic radicals. But it's the God haters in society that are coming out of the closet and openly saying they detest Jesus Christ, they hate Christianity."
"And you notice how the political left is silent as ISIS decapitates Christians?" he continued. "The political left is saying nothing in defence of the Christians who are being slaughtered because their spirit is in harmony with what's being done."
For Bakker, the current situation is "beyond comprehension."
But Jesus has already predicted what will happen in the Bible, he said. The verses Matthew 24:8-11 foretell of even worse things to come: "All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."
